"I began with the Wildcat Entertainment Corps as a freshman, playing Alto Saxophone. My first band moment was ripping a hole in my knee and requiring 12 stitches during sharks and minnows, and returning to band camp that same day. As a junior, I was the Saxophone Section Leader, and had a solo in that year’s marching band show. As a senior, I was the Field Captain. I would not be the same person who I am today without band."

"I currently serve as the woodwind sergeant, meaning that I help woodwinds (clarinets, flutes, and saxes) in both music and marching. The program opened many opportunities that can’t be found anywhere else. I not only aid a talented group of musicians, but also played the flute solo in the 2016 field show. It’s pretty cool to be able to help my peers and see them grow over the years. Band pushes my limits both mentally and physically, shaping me into the person I am today. It’s my creative outlet, stress reliever, and my second home."

"Hi, my name's Caleb Yun. I am currently a junior and the drum captain for the Brea Olinda High School Wildcat Entertainment Corps. This is my second season of being drum captain for the drumline and it's a privilege to be able to lead many talented people in the marching arts. I plan to continue my musical career later on after high school into college and hopefully become an instructor as well for either a high school or an independent group."

"I’ve been doing color guard since 8th grade and I don’t have any intention of stopping anytime soon. For a total of 10 different shows I’ve been slowly improving my skills and have made a bunch of friends along the way. I’m mostly part of the Brea program, but recently I’ve been also been a participant of the drum corp Incognito. In the beginning I had no intentions of becoming a captain or a leader whatsoever, but as I progressed, I realized that I really loved this program and felt like I needed to continue on our amazing guard legacy by teaching others this great sport of the art!"

"I started the guard program as nothing but a lowly peasant in my freshman year. I instantly fell in love with the atmosphere, all the kind people involved, and performing. I wasn’t very good but significantly improved over the first year leading to me receiving leadership my junior and senior year. Everybody in this program became my second family and I know that I’ll keep in contact with some members well into my adult years."

"Band is an experience that has changed my perspective of people numerous times. It is tough, challenging, and mentally exhausting, yet I somehow find myself enjoying it through and through. If one ask me "Would you join band again if you had the choice?" I would 100% say "count me in." Without band, I would not be the person I am today. This program has taught me to be selfless, mature, and responsible. Sounds daunting, I know, but we manage to endeavor through it with tons of fun as well! Through the marching band program, one can learn to tackle head-on, the conflicting diversities of this world."
